
Dagmar was born on April 16, 1929, in Glogau, Germany. She moved to Brandenburg, Germany, where she grew up and met her husband, Frank. Dagmar and Frank were married on April 16, 1951 in Brandenburg and together had one son, Eberhard, the following year.
The family fled the former East Germany for West Berlin in 1953 and immigrated to Nebraska in 1957. Dagmar lived in South Carolina for more than 40 years, first in Florence and then in West Columbia, and considered it her home. While in South Carolina, she especially enjoyed working in the Richland County Public Library, where she made many close friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank.
She is survived by her son, Eberhard; daughter-in-law, Shahla; grandchildren, Roland and Zeba, their spouses, Sherry Wu and Rishi Jajoo; and three great-grandchildren, Corbin Wunderlich, Kaya Wunderlich, and Roshan Jajoo.
Dagmar was very grateful for the opportunity to be part of the St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church congregation. She especially appreciated the home visits and caroling when she was homebound.
Her funeral will be held at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 119 North Church Street, Lexington, SC, on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with reception to follow. Burial will be at Woodridge Memorial Park.
