So sorry to hear of Cody’s passing. He was a sweet boy when I taught him in 7th grade. He was one of the students you keep in your heart and think of them often. Though his life was short it seems that he lived a worthy one and was loved by those who knew him. God Bless you, Cody.
Sincerely,
Sue Gilger

It is so hard for me to type this and send it out; I literally still have a voice-note from you and hearing this, I can't calm myself to listen to it. Cody led a joy-filled life and was one of the nicest few I met in my time in China. My deepest condolences to his family and friends, we are crying with you and praying for you. May you find comfort in the Lord. Amen

I’ll never forget meeting you in the hotel in Taizhou. I was so excited to see another American. Such amazing fun times at Allen’s Soon after meeting with all of the westerners. Gone too soon. Fly high with the angels Cody.

When we first started dating we took the kids to the river and you really wanted them to like you. They adored you. We carried them out to a shallow place where we could all play. You and Wallace started splashing me and then we both fell in a whole and fell in the water. The kids laughed at us and we were laughing. We dried off later. We had a picnic blanket we laid down and ate snacks while we watched people go by on tubes. The kids happily talked to you. We couldn’t understand what Raegan was saying, but she was excitedly talking to you. You looked at me like they actually like me. ☺️ How could they not you were such an amazing father figure to them they look up to you. Every time you would walk through the front door the kids would run chanting Cody Cody Cody. Whenever I picked the kids up from daycare they asked if Cody was coming over. They love you. I love you. I know you loved them so much.
