GILBERT – Funeral services for Daniel C. “Buddy” Harmon, 86, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Pond Branch United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
Mr. Harmon was born June 27, 1928 in Gilbert, SC to the late Charles Franklin Harmon and Bertha Long Harmon and passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014.
Buddy was an active and long-time member of Pond Branch UMC. He retired after 25 years of service with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. Mr. Harmon was a loving husband, father and Papa and a talented Blue Grass Musician who entertained countless people throughout his life.
Mr. Harmon is survived by his daughter, Donna Ricard (Steve “Shag”); sons, Dennis Harmon (Stephanie), Andy Harmon (Missy); ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sister, Hilda Haltiwanger and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 51 years, Edith Harmon and a son Mike Harmon (Ann).
