Danny Barfield, 72, of Lexington, SC went home to Jesus on Saturday, March 7, 2020 after a long illness. He was the son of the late Ethel Fogle and Henry C. Barfield. He was born in Union, SC, but grew up in Bamberg.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Deborah, and one brother, Bobby McAbee of Spartanburg. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews, as well as grandnieces and nephews.
He worked for Exxon for over 38 years, retiring in 2008. Danny was a devoted husband, a life-long Clemson fan, Elvis fan and, most important, a child of God. He never met a stranger and loved to talk on the phone. He loved to watch wrestling with his favorite friend, Joey Jones, who was like a son to him.
Danny was preceded in death by his sisters, Edith, Margaret, and Betty Jo and brother, Wayne.
He was a member of the Independent Fellowship of the Living Word church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Independent Fellowship of the Living Word, 3595 Highway 6, Lexington, SC 29073. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
