David Bachman Ellisor passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026 in his home, surrounded by family. Born in Orangeburg, he was a son of Colie Livingston & Sadie Richardson Ellisor. He was predeceased by his older brother, Perry Ellisor of Columbia. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Rogers Ellisor; son, Casey Livingston Ellisor of Columbia; daughter, Julie Ellisor Harris (Dennis) of New Zion; sister, Margaret Ellisor Martin of Chapin. He was a loving grandfather to Lucy Ellisor, Elliott Harris, Deon Ellisor, and Edna Lee Harris.
Mr. Ellisor graduated in 1963 from then Clemson College, where he played third base for Coach Bill Wilhelm and was known as “Twig”. After teaching at the University of South Carolina, where he started the Athletic Training Program, he served as the Physical Director at the Columbia YMCA, and later retired from the SC Department of Agriculture, in the Division of Weights and Measures.
Throughout his life, Mr. Ellisor enjoyed the outdoors and he was passionate about hunting, riding the tractor, playing golf, and later watching his grandchildren play sports. He thoroughly enjoyed listening to and teasing with his grandchildren.
In his final days, he told visitors how he loved Jesus and how he knew he was blessed. He will be greatly missed.

A Graveside Service for David Bachman Ellisor, 86, of New Zion, SC and formerly of Irmo, SC, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026 at St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Chapin, SC.
