Dave was a very loving and supportive husband and father.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was a lover of all things Michigan football (GO BLUE)! He enjoyed watching football on Saturday’s with his family the most.
Dave joined the Marine Corp in 1966 and was a Vietnam Veteran. After his time serving our country, Dave moved to Riverside, California and began doing drywall for a living and became known as the “Picasso” of drywall. He moved his family to Irmo, SC in 1994. He was lovingly known around town and often spotted by friends, family and neighbors in his truck by his custom “MudPan” license plate.
Dave was involved with his church and loved being part of the church.
Dave and Beth met while playing softball and up until his passing, he still threw softballs to her at Saluda Shoals Park on a weekly basis. They also enjoyed their nightly walks and talks along the river at Saluda Shoals Park as they walked their dog, Melody. They would often end their walk with a picnic.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Beth; brother, Steve (Wanda); sons, Matt Ferris, Mitchell Ferris, DJ Ferris (Karen); daughters, Holly Ferris, Amber Ferris; granddaughter, Lily, and grandsons, Jacob, Will & Ryder.
He was predeceased by his father, Blake Ferris; mother, Winnifred; granddaughter; Cameron Mathias; daughter-in-law, Shannon Ferris and son-in-law, David Mathias.
