David was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He spent much of his life working with his hands and took great pride in crafting furniture and decks, working as a home contractor, and growing an abundance of hothouse tomatoes. In addition to caring for dozens of feline friends throughout his life, he also enjoyed good music, classic movies, and cold glasses of wine. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, his meticulous attention to documenting life with photographs, and his unforgettable facial expressions.
He is survived by his children, Eric, Kirsten (Forest), Ingrid (Jeremy) and Karl (Beth); grandchildren, Pharon, Nathan (Jen), Jackson, Lorena, Virginia, Karl, Louis and Kaeden; and his sister, Margaret.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy; his father, Herbert; his step-mother, Marian; his wife, Susan; and his brothers, John, Peter and Christopher.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072.
