David Alan West

Born on April 9, 1957, in Bryan, Texas, he was the beloved son of Jeanette and Roy West. He grew up in Texas and Louisiana, graduating from Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge, later earning an engineering degree from Louisiana State University. David worked as a nuclear engineer his entire career. Outside of work, David was a skilled trumpet player, enjoyed playing any sport with a racket, and doting on his 5 beloved grandchildren.

Known for his perseverance, faith, and gregarious nature, David touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by his friends and family. David is survived by his fiance, Amanda Fisher; daughters Cheryl Blevins (Matt Blevins) and Sandra West (Trey Wilson); grandchildren Alissa, Carter, Callie, Adrienne, and Banks; brother Dennis West (Kathleen West); and mother, Jeanette West. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy West.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Trinity Baptist Church of Cayce located at 2003 Charleston Highway, Cayce, SC 29033. The visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by a service at 11:00 am.
