Derek B El Dada

LEXINGTON – A memorial service for SGT. Derek B. El Dada (RCSD), 45, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends after the service.

SGT. El Data, husband of the late Leigh H. El Data, was born on May 3, 1968, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013. He was the son of Bayan and Brenda Gantt El Data. He and Leigh were high school sweethearts and have been together since the 10th grade. They both graduated from Dreher High School in 1986 and he went on to graduate from the Criminal Justice Academy. SGT. El Data was a former officer for the Forest Acres Police Department, former K-9 officer for the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and currently was a Sergeant for the Richland County Sherriff’s Department. He was a member of the Dentsville Masonic Lodge # 398 AFM. SGT. El Data loved to hunt, fish and ride his motorcycle but most of all his family.

SGT. El Data is survived by his daughters, Hannah and Taylor El Dada of Lexington; parents; aunts, Delores Seal of Lexington and Grace Clark of Tacoma, WA and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
