

LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Dewey Heyward Berry, 94, will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Red Bank United Methodist Church (RBUMC) with interment in the church cemetery. Mr. Berry will be placed in the church at 10:30 am prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
Mr. Berry was born on December 22, 1921 in Red Bank, SC and passed away on Friday, July 1st, 2016 at NHC in West Columbia. He was the son of the late Dewey Hendrix and Inez Roland Berry. He was a lifelong member of Red Bank United Methodist Church. Mr. Berry served in the Navy during WWII. Many people will remember him as a local television retailer and repairman in his former business, Berry’s Radio & TV, located in Lexington, SC during the late 1950s until 1986, when he retired. He was a Mason and member of the American Legion.
Mr. Berry was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Marguerite Duvall Berry. Surviving are sons, Randy (Libby Ray) Berry of Lexington, Donnie (Bonnie) Berry of Florida, Jimmy (Kay) Berry of Lexington; grandchildren: Brian and Troy (Liz) Berry of Florida, and Allison (John) Pellet of Virginia; great grandchildren: Tiffany, Shane, and Liam Berry, and Nolan Pellet; sisters; Joanne Phillips and Mary Lou (Douglas) Arant; brother, Dwight (Ann) Berry, and numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by brothers, George, Norman, and Roy Berry and a sister, Florence Shull. His loving little canine companion, Itsy, was constantly by his side during his final years.
