He was born December 14, 1946 in Irmo, SC. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
He fought cancer for many years and was a true fighter until the very end.
Mr. Bouknight worked as a welder for Fairmont Tamper, now Harsco Track, for 45 years. He loved his farming, his weekend rides to the farmers market, and all of his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Sidney Bouknight and Nellie Mathias Bouknight; twin brother, Ronald Bouknight; and sister, Helen Keever.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Mary Bouknight of Irmo; son, Jamie Bouknight of Irmo; son, Patrick Bouknight of Gaston; daughter, Sharon Bouknight Little of Irmo; grandchildren, Sierra Bouknight (Joseph), Ward "Lee" Little, Liam Bohannan, and Adalyn Bohannan. He is also survived by his brothers, Marion Bouknight of Irmo, Bill (Joy) Bouknight of Irmo; sister, Margie (George) Ivey of Virginia along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Mr. Bouknight will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Irmo. Pastor Scott will be officiating. The family will receive guests inside the church after the service. This is a casual service.
