With deepest sympathy, my heart is heavy and my condolences go out to the family. I am just finding out about Ms. Donna's passing today, when I visited the Social Security Office in Orangeburg, S.C., where I initially met Ms. Donna for the first time. I use to dread having to go to the SSA b/c of the long wait; after talking with Ms. Donna at her window, it was worth the wait! She and I shared in common, the joy of our family, our love for animals, our shopping addiction at Cracker Barrel, our snacks, and most of all, our special love for our Client's. I am going to truly miss D.G., as I would call her. She was a bundle of Joy and truly an Inspiration to me as well as others. Ms. D.J. touched the lives of many. I will forever cherish the memories we both shared when I visited the SSA. Ms. D.G. will remain in my heart forever!

Donna, the best gift you ever gave to us was the birth of your son BJ, our daughter Megan's husband. It was our privilege to know you for only a short while but we loved you dearly. Your loving spirit, delightful sense of humor and love for your family and then ours will never be forgotten. We love you so much. Heaven is honored to have you as one of their newest entrants.

Griff and BJ - I am sorry for your loss. Donna was just a cool person. I always enjoyed my "over the fence" conversations with her. Many a laughing tear was shed. She will be missed.

I was priviledged to baby sit for Donna and Billy and Alice while Grady and Frances were so young and living next door to me. I was only 12 but loved being the "other" mother to Donna. She was so cute and funny even as a little child. Being in the middle, she saw her share of troubles but that just made her stronge and independent. I was able to follow her life from about two years old until her death and I never saw her when she wasn't smiling or laughing about something. Life was not always easy for her but she made lemonade out of lemons. She had a love of life and family that can teach each of us a good lesson...Live, Laugh, Love. She did them all and we are the better for knowing her and loving her.

BJ, Griff, Frances and family: We are so sorry for your loss. Donna was a light in our family that shined so brightly. What joy she added to every family gathering! You are all in our prayers. We put our hope in things to come - knowing she is laughing with Grady and Dad now. We love you all.

I didn't have the privilege of spending much time with my cousin Donna since my family moved to Virginia over 40 years ago, but the times I did get to see her, I saw her as hilarious, optimistic, energetic, loving, and kind. I'm praying for you Griff, Aunt Frances, Alice, and B.J. Love you guys.

Aunt Frances, Uncle George, Griff, BJ & Megan:
I am so very sorry for your loss. I am heartbroken that Donna is no longer with us....but I smile when I think of her with Uncle Grady, Bill and all her uncles. Nothing seems to help in these situations except love. And that is what we are sending you all - lots and lots of love. - Matt, Alane, Austin & Julianne Skaff
