Doris Yvonne Sharpe

LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Doris Yvonne Slyce Sharpe, 75, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012 at St. James Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Active Pallbearers will be Gregg Sharpe, Steven W. Sharpe, Eric Austin Sharpe, Keith Drafts, Andy Drafts, and Mark Snelgrove. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mack Sharpe and Carl Sharpe. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 1817 Gadsden Street, Columbia, SC 29201 or to St. James Lutheran Church, 1358 South Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29073.

Mrs. Sharpe was born January 19, 1937 in Lexington, SC and passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012. She was a daughter of the late Lloyd E. Slyce and Rosa Lee Gable. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. Mrs. Sharpe had retired from Allied Signal Plant and she loved to garden.

Mrs. Sharpe is survived by her husband, Alvin Sharpe, Jr.; sons, Michael Sharpe (Teresa), Dwight Sharpe (Deanna), grandchildren, Gregg, Steven, Amanda and Eric Sharpe; great-grandchildren, Graclyn, Wyatt, Kaitlyn and Michael Sharpe; sisters, Annie Lee Sharpe and Leetha Drafts (Michael); brothers, O’Neal Slyce (Doris) and John Slyce (Judy Jenkins); numerous nieces and nephews.
