Dorothy Turner

WEST COLUMIBA – Funeral services for Cappie Turner, 89, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church. Pallbearers will be Maury Turner, Madison Stack, Scott Breitkreutz, Mark Hobbs, Dolton Norman, and Lewis Dooley. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Mrs. Turner was born April 5, 1923 and passed away on Thursday, October 04, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Luther Hardee and Nita Cox Hardee of Hemingway, SC. Mrs. Turner was a dedicated teacher for 50 plus years and was awarded Order of the Palmetto by Governor Campbell in 1993. She was a devoted member of Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Mrs. Turner is survived by her son, Maurice “Reese” R. Turner Jr. (Janet) of West Columbia; sisters, Gerry H. Lambert of Johnsonville, SC and Mary H. Spears of Murrells Inlet, SC., brothers, Wilson C. Hardee of Johnsonville, SC and Jabe V. Hardee of Wilmington, NC., She has three grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Maury Turner (Shannon), Hope Stack (Madison), and Sarah Breitkreutz (Scott) and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Turner was predeceased by her husband, Maurice R. Turner; sisters, Hazel H. Hobbs and Lura H. Poston, brother, L.W. Hardee, Jr.

The family wishes to thank Mrs. Turner’s caregiver of 8 years, Cynthia Parker, Tri County Home Health nurses and Hospice Care.
