Dorothy Anderson Turner

WEST COLUMBIA - A graveside service for Dorothy Anderson Turner, 94, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Saluda River Baptist Church Family Life Center, 3459 Sunset Blvd. West Columbia SC 29169.

Mrs. Turner was born April 16, 1923 in Aiken, SC and passed away Monday, July 3, 2017. She was a daughter of the late Jacob Jake Anderson and Lillie Mae Miller Anderson. Dorothy was a member of Saluda River Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She retired from Reigel Textiles after 26 years of working in Quality Control. She was a former Superintendent with the Youth Group at Memorial Baptist Church in Aiken.

Surviving are her sons, David Turner (Valerie) of Stone Mountain, GA, Ruel Ken Turner (Lynn) of West Columbia; daughter, Pamela Higgins (Edward) of Wilmington, NC; sister, Miriam Hilda Wagstaff; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ruel John Turner; brothers, Richard and Arthur Otis Anderson and sister, Frances Ellen Woodard.
