Duiet Roger Munnerlyn

October 21, 1936May 16, 2020

On Saturday, May 16, 2020, Duiet Roger Munnerlyn, loving father, brother and friend passed away at the age of 83 in Lexington, SC. Roger, as most knew him, never met a stranger. He loved to sit and tell stories from his past and reminisce about “the good ole days.” They were as enjoyable to listen to as he loved to tell them. Anyone who met him would instantly fall in love with his infectious smile and sense of humor. He was truly one of a kind and can never be replaced.

Roger worked for Jeff Hunt Machinery for most of his life and he was a custom homebuilder in the Summerville and Charleston areas.

He was born on October 21,1936 in Florence, SC to the late Frenchie Turner Munnerlyn and Duiet Rouse Munnerlyn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Munnerlyn and his brother, Thad Munnerlyn.

He leaves behind his children, Julie Munnerlyn of Charlotte, NC, Brent Munnerlyn (Shasta) of Lexington, SC and Lori Munnerlyn of Lexington, SC; five grandchildren, LCpl Christian Munnerlyn, USMC of Camp Lejuene, NC, Ivy Munnerlyn of Lexington, SC, Drayton Beutler of Lexington, SC, Shelton Munnerlyn of Lexington, SC and Ainsley Munnerlyn of Lexington, SC; his sister, Janis Munnerlyn of Florence, SC. He also leaves behind his one true love and loyal companion, Bubba Dog.

We take comfort in the fact that we will see him again when God is ready for us to all come together again.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Mount Hope Cemetery in Florence, SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
