West Columbia – Eddie Day Shull, 74, of West Columbia, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday May 18, 2018. Born in West Columbia to Leon and ILa Mae Day Shull on November 15, 1943. Ed was happily married to Peggy Fairchild Shull for 51 years.
He is survived by his wife Peggy; daughter, Elizabeth ‘Lisa” Day Shull Croen (Erik); son, Chad Edward Shull (Casey); beloved grandchildren Dallas and Ila; brother, Robert Michel Shull (Kay); his twin brother, Freddie Shull (Beverly); also his loved in-laws, Jon Fairchild, Roy Fairchild (Diane), Chuck and Lynn Wooten, Martha Fairchild and many nieces and nephews. He was the proud owner of American Business Machines, Inc. for over 40 years and later opened American Document Shredding which his daughter eventually took over and he continued to work part time.
Eddie was a good man, consummate sportsman and life of the party. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends he considered family either at the lake house, on the coast or in the woods. He was larger than life and that's how he'll always be remembered.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
