Mrs. Evonne Rish Sims, 81, of Leesville, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021. Evonne was born May 28, 1940 in West Columbia, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Rish and Vivian Crim Rish; her brother, Bruce Rish and a grandson, Tyler Sims. Surviving are her husband of forty years, Ron Sims; children, Cheryl Hamilton (John), Denny Ellis, Beth Harrison (Jimmy), Brett Sims (Kim), Michael Sims and Meredith Mitchell Pooser (Bert); grandchildren, Daniel Ellis (Kristin), Jacob Harrison, Caroline Ellis, Jessica Lollis (Ash), Ryon Hamilton, Mary Cameron Hamilton, Nicole Kiser (Jacob), Riley Mitchell, Walker Mitchell, Hannah Workman, Regan Sims and six great grandchildren.
Evonne sold real estate for a number of years before joining SCE&G/SCANA where she held several positions before retiring. She and Ron enjoyed travelling on trips organized by the University of South Carolina and later in their motor home with a group of friends.
Evonne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She firmly believed that you needed a “to go bag” full of snacks when you were leaving her house whether your trip home was fifteen minutes or four hours.
There will be a private service at a later date.
