

LEXINGTON – A graveside service for Elbert Ray Estes, 82, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
Mr. Estes was born March 4, 1935 in Harlan County, Bardo, KY and passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017. He was a son of the late Ernest Estes and Nell Black Estes Crider. He is preceded in death by his brother, Gene Estes and sister, Evelyn Osborne. He proudly served as a Master Sgt. in the United States Air Force. Mr. Estes was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Pine Castle Lodge 368 (Masons) in Orlando, FL, Shriners of Orlando, FL and Order of Eastern Star, Pine Castle, FL.
Mr. Estes is survived by his wife, Thelma Sue (Howard) Estes; daughters, Debbie Estes Conley of Lexington and Winona Estes Harlow (Joel) of Alto, GA; grandson, Matthew Harlow of Bonair, GA; granddaughters, Erin Hamilton of Prosperity, SC, Allison Byxbe of Columbia, SC, Lisa Harlow Clay of South Hamilton, MA; fourteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Crider of Breeding, KY and Kenny Crider of Harlan, KY.
