Beth was born August 3, 1973 in Massillon, Ohio to John and Sue Blackstone. She is a graduate of Tuslaw High School. Beth spent many years working for family practice offices in charge of medical referrals and appointments and recently joined Lexington Medical Center as a referral specialist. She was an avid reader and photographer, loved time at the beach, enjoyed hiking and nature, loved music (especially Bon Jovi), and loved to laugh.
The most important thing in Beth’s life was her family whom she loved fiercely. She made it a priority to put her family, and especially her children, before herself and we are all better because of that. She had a very calming presence, a glowing heart, and huge smile which lit up every place she went. She was a very bright flame that faded far too soon.
She is survived by her husband, Travis Smothers; her two daughters, Kelsey Blackstone and Grace Howald; her son, Colin Howald; her step-son, Taylor Smothers; her grandson, Lincoln Bachman; her parents, John and Sue Blackstone of Massillon, OH; her sister, Jill Davis; brother-in-law, Ted Davis; and her two nieces, Olivia Davis and Rylee Davis, all of Brunswick, OH.
There will be a memorial and remembrance gathering for family and friends in Lexington, SC on July 31, 2021 at the Virginia Hylton Park, 111 Maiden Lane, Lexington, SC 29072 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. We hope all who knew Beth will join us in celebrating the woman we all loved so much.
An additional memorial and remembrance service will be held in Massillon, OH with details to be released at a later date.
