LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Evelyn H. Gibson, 82, of Lexington will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home Lexington Chapel, with interment to follow in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2017 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Ms. Gibson was the daughter of the late W.L. and Flemar Horton. She was born and raised in Spartanburg; SC. Evelyn graduated from Winthrop University in 1957 and worked at Epworth Children’s Home in Columbia, the county of Lexington in the Human Resources department, and also enjoyed a successful career in real estate in the Columbia area. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Marie Frye (Jeff) of Lexington; son Brad Gibson (Sherry) of Lexington; daughter Laura Drafts (Andy) of Gilbert; grandchildren, Sara Gibson (Justin), Rebecca Hamrick (Mason); Chelsea Miller (Nick) , Brianna Drafts, Alli Proveaux (Cody); great-grandchildren, Charlotte Ellington Hamrick and Owen James Miller.
