Evelyn Roof Keisler, of Lexington SC, passed away October 27, 2024. Evelyn was born June 6, 1929, to the late Harold H. and Elsie Amick Roof. Evelyn was a lifelong member of Pisgah Lutheran Church and served in many capacities there including the Building Committee of the current sanctuary building. Evelyn was a homemaker, a devoted mother, a Cub Scout Leader, and a Girl Scout Leader. She and her husband of 72 years were also beef cattle producers and she promoted the beef industry by volunteering with the SC Livestock Association and the CowBelles.
Mrs. Keisler was predeceased by her husband, Homer Leroy Keisler. She is survived by her three children: Gerald (Lynn A.) Keisler, Dr. Duane (Dr. Lydia W.) Keisler, and Susan (Rick) Jordan; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings: Richard Roof, Terry (Betty) Roof, and Janette (Donald) Clamp.
Services will be on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Pisgah Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stephen Mims officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service at 1:00 pm with the service to follow at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pisgah Lutheran Church, 1350 Pisgah Church Road, Lexington, SC 29072 or to the ELCA Disaster Relief Fund c/o Pisgah. Caughman Harman Funeral Home is assisting the family.
