COLUMBIA – Frances Lee Almond, 65, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018.
Born on July 28, 1953 in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of Charles Richard Almond and the late Alice A. Parham-Almond. Frances lived all of her life in Columbia. She graduated from Olympia High School, where she was voted Miss Special Education. She worked for over 35 years at Kirkland’s Kiddie Koop. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia. She was also a dedicated attendee of Jaycee Camp Hope at Clemson University for over 40 years. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and great-aunt.
Frances is survived by her father; sisters, Lynn Almond Blaylock, Pamela Almond-Scalco (Peter) and Shirley Almond Hurst (Ron); nephews, Zachary Almond Neill (Ashley), Alexi Lee Scalco (Courtney) and Peter Michael Scalco; great-nephews, Grayson Neill and Walter Boyd Scalco; uncle, Frances Joseph Parham, Jr. (Mary Sue); her beloved Shih Tzu, Mai Ling and many close friends. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Ralph Blaylock.
The family will receive friends in a celebration of her life at her home in October.
