Frank grew up one of six boys in a home on Arlington Street in Brighton, where he developed a strong love for his brothers, and a love for golf, working for summers as a caddy at the Leo J. Martin Golf Course. He bragged about being Caddy of the Year in 1971 for years and years. He graduated from St. Columbkille High School in 1972, and joined the United States Air Force. After being honorably discharged, he married his high school sweetheart, or as he would call her “the girl next door”, Susan Kiley, in 1976. Susan stood strongly by his side, selflessly supporting and caring for him until his death.
Frank was a resident of Billerica, MA for 34 years, where he had a family and held a variety of jobs. He worked for Hyponex, sold for L’Oreal, Polaroid, a member of the Billerica Police Department, and Cumberland Farms. He spent most of his career as a Salesman for Sun Ray Bakery, Fantini, and Bouyea-Fassetts Bakery. In his downtime, he loved to play the piano, ride motorcycles, was a lover of poems (especially “Don’t Quit” by John Greenleaf Whittier) play cards, gardening, listening to music, and spending time with his family. He was secretly obsessed with his hair being perfect, and once shaved his eyebrows completely off.
Starting in 2006, Frank started to travel, going to Memphis, Charleston, SC, and San Francisco. In 2016, Frank moved to the beautiful hills of Marin County, California, an area just north of San Francisco, to be with his grandchildren, son, and daughter-in-law. He liked to visit Sonoma, San
Luis Obispo, and San Francisco. He also enjoyed watching his grandkids play hockey, soccer, and martial arts. In 2018, the adventure continued to the Columbia, South Carolina area, where he continued watching his grandsons grow, sneaking candy to them, reading James Patterson novels, going to church, and falling in love with biscuits and gravy at the Cracker Barrel restaurant. One of his proudest moments was the honor of walking his daughter, Leandra down the aisle.
Frank preferred a celebration of life, which will be announced at a later date, to a formal service. The family is grateful for your prayers and condolences. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Disabled American Veterans Charity found at dav.org or the Amputee Coalition of America, found at amputee-coalition.org.
