Visitation will be held on Sunday April 15, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. Funeral will take place Monday 2:00 p.m. April 16, 2018, at St. David Lutheran Church with interment to follow in church cemetery.
He was an active member of St. David Lutheran Church, Lutheran Men, Prayer breakfast, The 100 Club, Lexington Chamber of Commerce, American Legion Post # 7, and Cub Scout Master of pack 340 and Elder of Lexington Rotary Club. He served in the United States Army for 2 years. He began his career in the car wash industry in 1954. He was an active member of the International Car Wash Association, (ICA) and the Southeastern Car Wash Association, where he served as President and board member. He was founder, of Frank’s Car Wash, and owner of Frank’s Car Wash Equipment and Supply Co. In the Car Wash industry, he was a man of enormous knowledge and integrity. His work ethics were always hard work, honesty and a positive attitude. He always treasured his clients/friends in the industry. He took great pride in having his Son Mike and three grandsons (Shawn, Phillip and Matt) who are following in his footsteps to keep the family business alive and productive.
He is survived by his wife Margie Dooley Hutchins of 66 years. Four children; Michael (Paula) Hutchins, Cynthia (Mark) Hendrix, Gale (Hal) Cone, Dale (Robert) Rikard, grandchildren Shawn (Wendy) Hutchins, Phillip (Lauran) Hutchins, Holly (Daniel) Rikard, Matthew (Allison) Hendrix, Nathaniel (Kym) Hendrix, Preston (Shannon) Rikard, Kristin (Will) Bebee, and Parker (fiancé Natalie) Rikard, eleven great grandchildren, Sarah, Dylan, Amber, Denton, JoAnna, Beckett, Miles, Liam, Everett, Griffin, Harper. He is survived by two sisters, Lorine (Richard) Crapps and Patsy (John) Neal, numerous, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a daughter Dale Rikard and two brothers, David W. and Harold D. Hutchins.
Frank is remembered as a loving husband, a wonderful Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, Brother in law and friend.
He loved life and spoke often of the importance of family who he dearly loved. Work was his hobby and was always appreciative of every client; some became life – long friends. He enjoyed traveling, horses, hunting, motorcycle riding, and the Mountain home; it was his leisure and relaxation.
"He will lovingly be remembered as Frank, Gene, Squirrel, Bubba and Quail Legs". His ever present smile and playful cut – up personality will be truly missed.
