

Franklin H. Corley, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. He was born in Columbia, South Carolina on May 25, 1929 and was the son of the late Franklin Hobson Corley, Sr. and Fredna Irena Creech Corley.
Franklin was a graduate of Lexington High School and went on to graduate from the University of South Carolina. He was a former MAI (Member of the Appraisal Institute); former SRPA (Senior Real Property Appraiser); past President of South Carolina Chapter #47 AIREA (American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers); past President of Central South Carolina Chapter SREA (Society of Real Estate Appraisers); past Vice Governor for the International SREA; past Director of South Carolina Chapter #47 and Central SC Chapter SREA; former South Carolina Director of Housing Urban Development; and former Partner, Appraiser, and Consultant for Corley & Associates, LLC.
Franklin was a devoted Christian and member of First Baptist Church of Columbia. He was a watercolor artist, with his artwork printed and sold throughout South Carolina. He enjoyed fishing, woodwork, gardening (especially roses), and spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Cecile Rikard Corley; children: Christopher F. Corley (Tina), Mary Ann Hickman (Bob), and Charles F. Corley (Pam); grandchildren: Dylan Corley, Brent Hickman, Austin Corley (Alli), and Hannah Rose Corley; sister, Fredna Morris; step-granddaughter, Jessi Nichols (Braden); great step-grandson, Eli; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A private service for Franklin will be held at Woodridge Memorial Park at a later date.
