Born in Anderson (Anderson County) South Carolina on November 22, 1943, she was the daughter of the late George O. Compton and the late Sarah Elizabeth Hicks Compton.
She is survived by her son, Scott O. Hall and her grandson, Preston Cole Hall, both of Cumming Georgia. She is also survived by her sisters: Cathy Kacala and her husband Cas of Shallotte, North Carolina; Janice Neely and her husband Emory of Prosperity, South Carolina; and Paula Wood of Charleston, South Carolina (Widow of Tommy Wood). Georgia graduated from Hanahan High School and from The University of South Carolina. Georgia served hundreds of young people as an elementary school teacher focused on the first grade for 35 years. One of her greatest pleasures was telling stories about her first-grade students and their antics. Her eyes would sparkle any time she was talking about them. She had a file box full of photos of young students that she impacted over the years.
The family will receive friends during visitation from 10:30 am to 11:00 am, Friday, September 19, 2025, at Dunbar Funeral Home - Dutch Fork Chapel in Irmo, SC. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Mark Bredhold at 11:00 am, Friday, September 19, 2025, with graveside services to follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens. Those serving as Pall Bearers are Preston Cole Hall, Adam (Bo) Wood, Daniel Wood, Bryan Richardson, Joe Carbonaro, James Cartee, Jr. and Ray Cartee.
Georgia will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The twinkle in her eye, the love and laughter she always gave to all who knew her will live on in our hearts forever.
