Glenn Harrison

James Glenn Harrison, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, was born November 13, 1940 in Greenwood, SC, and passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026 in Lexington, SC. He was the son of the late John Robert Harrison and Lila Viola Cobb Harrison. Mr. Harrison graduated from Greenwood High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Air Force 1959-1963. Afterward, he earned his Bachelor's Degree at Lander College, where he met his wife, Jane. Mr. Harrison enrolled in the Rehabilitation Counseling Program at the University of South Carolina, where he earned an MED. He worked for thirty years for the Veterans Administration in the Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling Office until his retirement in 2001.

Glenn deeply loved his family, friends, Carolina Gamecocks, golf, music, and his church family. He and Jane began the “Bread Ministry” at Round Hill Baptist Church, making over 500 visits to greet newcomers. He was a member of the Security Team and an active participant in the Men’s Senior Adult class. He had a generous spirit and wanted deeply to make a difference in the lives of others.

Mr. Harrison is survived by his daughter, Beth Norton (Kevin); son, John Harrison (Amanda); grandchildren, Sara Norton, Lachlan Harrison, and Finlay Harrison; sisters-in-law, Debbie Culbertson (Scott Jourdan) and Laura Boland (Kirk); and cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Culbertson Harrison; daughter, Sara Jean Harrison; brother, Robert Harrison; and sister, Linda Harrison.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Round Hill Baptist Church, Lexington, SC. The family will receive friends following the service. A family burial service for the ashes of Glenn and Jane will be at Greenwood Memorial Gardens at 3:00 p.m. on August 15.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Westminster Memory Care and Agape Hospice for their loving care, kindness, and support. The family is grateful for the thoughts and prayers of so many friends and loved ones.
