Gordon Keith Gillespie

Gordon Keith Gillespie, 61, of Lexington, SC, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. Born on October 29, 1964, in Davenport, Iowa, Gordon grew up in Bettendorf, Iowa, and is a graduate of Bettendorf High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant and serving with the 101st Airborne Division—a chapter of his life that remained a point of immense lifelong pride.

Following his military service, Gordon built a successful 40-plus-year career in purchasing and procurement, working most recently with Blanchard Machinery. A dedicated professional, he earned lifetime membership as a Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM). A loyal Hawkeye through and through, Gordon served as President of the Columbia Iowa Club (part of the University of Iowa Alumni Association) and was recognized as the UICA "Volunteer of the Year" during the 2015-2016 season for his dedicated leadership. Above all, Gordon knew how to enjoy life's simple pleasures with those he loved. He was a die-hard Iowa Hawkeyes fan, an avid Lego builder, a true movie buff, and a master at game nights involving trivia, Singo, and cards. He cherished quiet evenings with his wife, Jennifer, especially watching Hallmark movies together. An affectionate dog lover with a soft spot for dachshunds, Gordon leaves behind his beloved Gretel and Hansel, and is reunited with Penny and Theo.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer; his children, Adam (Airi) Gillespie of Forest Hills, NY, and Amber (Joshua) Walker of Burnsville, NC; and his cherished grandchildren, Lewis Gillespie and Sean Walker. He is also survived by his siblings, George (Pam) Gillespie of Hartford, SD, Jim (Holly) Gillespie of Cumming, GA, Aaron Gillespie of Moline, IL, Lynn (Terry) King of Collinsville, IL, and Michael (Christine) Gillespie of Swansea, IL; his special niece, Olivia Sacca, and special great-niece, Everly Sacca, alongside many extended nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, George and Rita Gillespie, and Joseph and Marsha Sacca.

A visitation to honor and remember Gordon will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home in Lexington, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Joe's Wish by contacting [email protected].
