IRMO – Heyward Michael “Mike” Monts, 58, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2015. Born on April 5, 1957, he was the beloved son of Doris “Dot” Shealy Monts and the late Heyward Mearl Monts. Mike was employed with Coogler Construction Company where he enjoyed driving his work truck and being around his coworkers. He also loved sailing on Lake Murray with friends and gardening both vegetables and flowers.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
