Heather Parsons

Heather graduated from USC with a Masters Degree in Social Work. She formerly worked with the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation as an investigator, serving others with steady dedication and a caring sense of responsibility.

Those who knew Heather will remember the loving way she moved through the world—thoughtful in her relationships, attentive to the needs of others, and generous in the quiet, everyday ways that matter most.

She enjoyed painting and spending time with her beloved dog, Liz—simple joys that reflected her gentle spirit and the warmth she brought to the lives around her.

Heather is survived by her father; James L. Hickman and her aunt; Shelia W. McIntyre, and two cousins; Kimberly M. Giddo and Kendall McIntyre.

She was predeceased by her mother; Wanda W. Hickman, and her cousin; Kristopher D. Rucker.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. A private burial will be held at Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
