Helen Shumpert Gable, age 80, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. She was born in Richland County on May 5, 1946 to the late Hiram Murray Shumpert and Eula Mae Shull Shumpert.
She retired from SC Public Safety.
She is survived by her son, Carl “Bo” Gable; three grandchildren, Casie Gable, Taylor Gable, and Carl Hiram “C.J.” Gable, II; two sisters, Alice Healy and Cindy Stephenson; and brother, Harold W. Shumpert.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur L. Gable and sister, Hazel Shumpert.
A Memorial Service will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, South Carolina 29072, on July 3, 2026 at 2:00 pm, with visitation to follow.
