

JACKSON, MS - Mrs. Helen Flanagan. Lord, 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Oak Haven Village in Lexington, SC. She was born in 1933 in Kosciusko, MS and was the daughter of the late Ralph Nelson and the late Hattie Marie Flanagan. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison, MS before moving to South Carolina to be near her family. She retired from Heiden-Marchetti Insurance after 40 years with the agency. Helen was always active in her church, seeking to share the gospel in her everyday life. She wanted to be remembered as someone who loved the Lord and lived her life...as a pleasant aroma of Christ to God... (2 Corinthians 2:15-16). Her infectious laugh and smile brighten everyone’s day. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Edward L. “Sonny” Lord, her parents and her sister, Dorothy Ruth Flanagan, who she never met on earth. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Lord Lazzaro and her husband, Tom Lazzaro and their two children, Alexis and Tommy of Monument, CO; her son, Edward Alan Lord and his wife, Kathy Tinney Lord of Lexington, SC and their children, Ally and Matthew.
Helen will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Oak Haven Place at Oak Leaf Village in Lexington for their superb, loving and tender care of Momma over the last 3 years. The family will receive friends at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, 350 High Street Jackson, MS 39202 from 4-7 pm on Friday, December 14, 2012 and 12 pm-1 pm on Saturday December 15, 2013.
The funeral will be held at 1 pm at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Saturday December 15, 2012, officiating will be Dr. Phil Walker, Pastor of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park South. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Dementia Foundation, 69531 213th Street, Darwin, MN 55324 or Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 7469 Old Canton Road, Madison, MS 39110.
