Helen Cassady Team

LEXINGTON – Helen Cassady Team, 91, wife of Benjamin Leslie Team, Jr. Mrs. Team was born July 10, 1933, in Camden, SC and passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, after an extended stay at The Columbia Presbyterian Community. She was the daughter of John E. and Estelle Watts Cassady, attended Camden High School and earned college credit from the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Team was a teacher assistant in Saluda River and Pine View Elementary Schools and Dutch Fork and Irmo High Schools. She was a volunteer at Lexington Medical Center for many years, as well as an active member of multiple civic groups. Genealogy was a hobby Mrs. Team enjoyed with her husband, Ben. Following his death, she continued her family research connecting with collegiate historians who cited her research evidence in their professional publications.

Mrs. Team is survived by her six children: Grayson Team Sarvis, Helen Team Sons Vickery (Kent Vickery), Andrea Team Harrison (Thom Harrison), Benjamin Leslie Team III (Paula Royal), John Stephen Team (Jean Ann Wurtz), and Karl Alexander Team; grandchildren: Miki Keisler (Brian), Ross Sons (Michelle), Virginia Harrison Wright (Joe), Andrew Harrison, Patrick Harrison, Ben Team IV, Scott Team (Kelly), Stacy Scott (Robert), Alex Team, Ryan Team, Karl Team Jr. (Jennifer), and Adam Team; sister: Janet Cassady Todd (Rusty); and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Team was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Benjamin Leslie Team, Jr., and sons-in-law, David Sons and Russell Sarvis.

Funeral services for Mrs. Team will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church with interment to follow at Woodridge Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
