You were always someone I looked up to. I remember just calling you and talking about all kinds of stuff. I could be so open and honest with you and you never once judged me. Thank you for everything you did for me and my family. I will always cherish or trips with you and grandma, living with you guys, and all the time you spent with us. It means a lot that you came to everything important to me and you and grandma were always my biggest cheerleaders. I will miss your home cooking especially German potato salad. Thankfully I helped you make it enough times I can probably try to make it. I will cherish all the times I spent the night with you and grandma and came to see you all especially my days in college. I loved our little outings and treats. I especially loved going to red lobster with you guys. I have already written to my daughter about you and I will tell her about you one show her photos. I love you so much and I miss you. I’m glad your with grandma now.

Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a life time. Herb believed this. He taught me how to fish. He was a true teacher of craftsmanship. Along the way, I grew to love him. He taught me unconditional friendship and love. He challenged me to think it through. No matter what the problem was. He gave himself generously. I’ll never forget my friend.
