

GILBERT - James Devon Campbell, 20, of Gilbert, passed October 10, 2015 as a result of complications of lymphatic cancer. He was most commonly known as Devon, also called Dev, D-vo, Boobala, Ghostwolf, Bubba and Baby. Devon was born on October 17, 1994 in Fort Lauderdale, FL, the son of James and Mary Campbell.
Devon attended Gilbert schools and graduated in 2013. He was a proud member of the Gilbert High School marching band and had very fond memories of them winning State Championship in 2012. Devon went on to enroll and complete a computer technology certification program through Midlands Technical College. While in college, he was employed at the Halftime Sports Cantina.
Devon was a truly talented individual, gifted in music and art. He played many instruments and in his free time, wrote music. Devon touched many lives with his artwork. For example, he painted a picture for his nephew's nursery and when he got sick and was hospitalized, he drew a portrait of one of his favorite nurses before he left that hospital.
Devon is predeceased by his Granny, Ella Pratt. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James D. Campbell Jr.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James D. Campbell Sr.; Stepfather, Nick Nichols; brother, Chris Nichols and wife Michelle; sister, Leah Nichols and fiancé Jeremy Angel; sister, Lauren Leighty and husband John, sister, Niki Scarborough; brothers, Jayme and Stephen Lunt; nieces, Mackenzie and Madeline; nephews, Jace and Dylan, several aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends and loved ones.
Both services will be held at Calvary Chapel, 1156 Barr Rd, Lexington, SC. Visitation will be Friday, October 16, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Service celebrating his life will follow on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Devon's 21st birthday.
