James Leamon Taylor, 85, passed away on June 29, 2026. Born December 31, 1940, James graduated from Gilbert High School and went on to serve in the Army, including an overseas assignment in Germany.
A steady, hard-working man, James carried a quiet sense of duty into every season of life. After his military service, he retired from Allied Chemical/Honeywell, yet it was clear to all who knew him that he was a farmer by heart—someone who valued honest work, patience, and the simple satisfaction of tending what had been entrusted to his care. His thoughtfulness showed in the way he lived: measured, dependable, and attentive to others.
James also enjoyed traveling, and he was a Shriner, reflecting a life that made room for fellowship and service. Through it all, his compassion was evident in the relationships he kept and the respect he offered so naturally.
He was predeceased by his mother, Catherine "Loree" Price Taylor; his father, Efird Taylor; and his brother, Jerry Taylor. He is survived by his long time sweetheart, Carolyn Crouch, and many family members and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held at Boiling Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2373 Calks Ferry Road, Lexington, South Carolina 29073, on July 2, 2026, at 10:00 am.
The family would like to extend special thanks to his caregivers, Pam Polatty, Jake Lindler, Jordan Lindler, Wayne Ricard, Agape Hospice and Nurse Hannah Sloan. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart in Hands Ministry, 284 Liberty Hill Road, Lexington, SC 29073.
