She is survived by her husband, David Smith of Chapin; sister, Beth Lowman of Chapin/Clemson; uncle, Bobby Lowman (Barbara) of Lexington; numerous cousins and 2 fur babies, O.P. and Doodle.
Jan was an avid Clemson fan, Life Member of IPTAY and member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church. She graduated from Winthrop College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 119 North Church Street, Lexington, SC 29072 with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church or IPTAY Annual Fund, 1 Avenue of Champions, PO Box 1529, Clemson, SC 29633.
