Jerry D Chavis Sr.

IRMO – Funeral services for Jerry Duane Chavis, Sr., 57, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Life Springs Worship Center with burial at Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.

Mr. Chavis was born on April 10, 1956 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013. He was the son of Kenneth Chavis, Sr. and the late Blanche McKinney Chavis. Mr. Chavis loved fishing and hunting and was a member of Life Springs Worship Center. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Chavis is survived by his wife Laura “Pat” Chavis; daughter, Ashley Chavis-Anderson (Jerry); grandchildren, Raleigh and Parker; father, Kenneth Chavis Sr. and stepmother, Carol; brothers, Kenneth Chavis Jr. (Mary Ann), Larry W. Chavis (Cheryl R.) and Stephen Chavis; sisters, Brenda Sturkie (Johnny), Alice Davis and Tracy Chavis; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other family members and friends. He is predeceased by his son, Duane Chavis and mother, Blanche Chavis.
