Wayne graduated Lexington High School in 1984 and began his career as an HVAC technician. He married his high school sweetheart “Roni” shortly after graduation and together they had three daughters. Wayne took great pride in providing for his family, eventually taking the bold step to form his own business, Carolina Install.
Wayne was known for his integrity, generosity, and extremely strong work ethic. He often gave his time to help friends and family with home repairs, in addition to single-handedly renovating his own home which he affectionately named “Wayne’s World.”
Wayne was a handyman and a homebody, but he was also an outdoorsman with a lifelong passion for fishing, hunting, and simply being at peace in nature. He had a big heart for animals and a soft spot for the most unloved creatures, frequently bringing home snakes from job sites and keeping a couple as pets for many years.
Wayne had a close relationship with his siblings; Anna, Gary, and Marion. Stories of their mischievous childhood, their witty banter, and loyal support for each other during life’s challenges would become hallmarks of the Maner family legacy.
He was remarried to Margaret “Maggie” Maner in 2011 until her death in 2016. Wayne was delighted by his grandchildren; Sawyer, Indigo, Owen, Jameson, and Patience.
Wayne lived life on his own terms and was the embodiment of self-reliance. Carrying this torch in his honor are his daughters, Felicia Maner, Victoria DiPietro, and Katie Maner, along with their children and partners and family that extends beyond blood. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marion.
He is released from his earthly burdens and pain, finally the “free bird” he always wanted to be.
A memorial service will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072, on Monday, October 12th, 2026 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org/donate) or planting a tree in Wayne’s memory.
