John Otis Ayrs, 70, a long-time resident of the Babcock Center, in Columbia, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 22, 2024. He was born in Columbia, South Carolina on October 15, 1953 to the late Odys and Mary Ayrs.
He is survived by three of his brothers: Oliver F. Ayrs, James D. Ayrs, and Paul S. Ayrs.
John had to battle many challenges over his life and his family would like to sincerely thank all of the workers and friends at the Babcock Center in Columbia, SC who were his second family. They looked after him, helped him with his needs, assisted him in overcoming challenges, and loved him as one of their own.
A memorial service will be held for John at 2:30 PM on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Crescent Hill Baptist Church, 2659 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29204.
