COLUMBIA – John Bunyan “Bunk” Slice, 93, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 peacefully surrounded by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years and his children.
Mr. Slice was born February 19, 1919 in Chapin, SC, the son of J. Melvin and Mary Elizabeth Cumalander Slice. Mr. Slice was a World War II Veteran and past president and co owner of Seastrunk Electric Company. Mr. Slice was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Slice is survived by his wife Mildred Monts Slice; his children, J. Grady Slice (Lynn), Sheila Durst (Carl); grandchildren, Terri Lynn Corley (Chris) of Irmo and Jason Comalander (Becky) of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Emily Grace, Sam and Maggie Corley and Garrett Comalander.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, May 10, 2012 in Bush River Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to Epworth Children’s Home, 2900 Millwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29205 or the charity of one’s choice.
