John David Steele, age 87, of Columbia, SC passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025. He was the loving husband of 45 years to Linda Adams Steele. He was born on January 1, 1938 to the late Harry Allen Steele, Sr. and Eileen Miller Steele.
John worked as a chemical engineer at Kodak in Rochester, NY and at Carolina Eastman in Columbia, SC, and retired from Eastman Chemical in Kingsport, TN. After retirement, he became a realtor and went on to start his own business.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Michael John Steele and Kenneth Allan Steele; daughters, Janice Steele Rhodes and Sarah Sessions Fultz; sister, Joan Steele Hanson of Missouri; along with 9 grandkids and 4 great-grandkids.
He was predeceased by his brother, Harry Allen Steele, Jr.
A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Praise Church, 4532 Pond Branch Road, Leesville, SC 29070.
