Joyce Joan May

Joyce Joan Adams May, 85, of Leesville, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at home. She was born in Perrysburg, Ohio on August 3, 1939 to the late Marjorie Opal Wilson and Jesse Willis Adams.

Joyce drove special needs for the Lexington one school district where she retired from. She was a nurturing, loving soul. A strong woman and beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great grandma. She was loved beyond words by so many. She enjoyed watching the birds, caring for her dog Molly May, and laughing at the crazy reels on Facebook.

She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Sue (Chris); sons, Brad May (Teresa), Greg Gerity (Judy), Jerry Gerity (Lori), and James May, Jr.; as well as several sisters and brothers, many nieces and nephews, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, James W. May, and sons, Lawrence, Micheal, Gerity and Reginald, Charles May (Billy).

She was treasured and loved by many and will be truly missed beyond measure.

A celebration of life will be held for Joyce from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 242 Rhoda Rish Road, Leesville, SC 29070.
