Judy was born on June 10, 1943 in West Hartford, Connecticut. Judy gifted her talents to many people and many vocations during her long life. She worked tirelessly as the secretary to the Superintendent of Burke County schools and with the move of her family to Augusta, she served as the secretary to the Principal of Lakeside High School. Judy also had a side hustle of decorating wedding cakes. If you were a bride and had a Cake by Judy, you were blessed with a true work of art. If you were fortunate enough to know Judy, you were gifted by her loving, giving nature. To quote many of her loved ones, "She was a true saint."
Judy is survived by her sister, Linda Peay (Larry Peay); children, Kim Rising (Jay Rising), Jonathan Burrows and grandchildren, Danielle McKie, William McKie, Garrison Burrows and Hampton Burrows. She is preceded in death by her son, Todd Hogan; husband, Leon Burrows; granddaughter, Caroline McKie and brother, Carl Scherer, Jr.
While Judy lived a full life, it is felt that she left us all too soon and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life for Judy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072 with a reception to follow.
