Born on August 28, 1943, Judy was the daughter of the late Lytion McCoy Price and Nathalee Shealy Price. She married the love of her life, Bruce Wayne Vaught and together they shared a life filled with family, memories, and many years together until his passing.
Judy dedicated 26+ years of service as a Military Pay Specialist at Fort Jackson, a career she was very proud of. Her dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to her work reflected the determination she carried throughout her life.
Judy was a strong and determined woman who valued her independence and her family. She was an avid lover of Elvis Presley. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, reading, and taking numerous day trips, always finding joy (and good food) in the places she visited, making memories along the way. Some of her happiest moments were the times spent with the people she loved.
She is survived by her daughter, Frances Smith (Ricky); her grandchildren, Jeffrey Smith (Victoria) and Timothy Smith (Allyson); and her great-grandchildren, Brooklynn and Everleigh. She will also be deeply missed by the many family members and friends who shared in her life and the memories they created along the way.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bruce Wayne Vaught; her parents, Lytion McCoy Price and Nathalee Shealy Price; her daughter, Glenna Michelle “Daisy”, whom she missed dearly; and her siblings, LaRaina Price Lavoie, Charles “Mac” Price, and John William Price.
A visitation will be held on July 16, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
