AIKEN – Katherine Jones Turner, 67, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012. Born in Canton, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Jones and Clymn Johnson.
Mrs. Turner was a homemaker and enjoyed working in the yard. She was a very charming lady that was proud of her heritage. She was also deeply interested in SC history. Mrs. Turner had a southern draw that was very infectious.
Mrs. Turner is survived by her sons, John Kurt (Amanda) Turner, Clarence Michael (Sandra) Turner, George Sherman (Tracey) Turner, Jr.; grandchildren, Sherman Alexander, John, Nathaniel, Isabella, and Andrew
Turner, Mackenzie Mills, Madelyn Mills, and Mabrie Turner. Mrs. Turner was predeceased by her husband, George S. Turner and brother, Reuben Jones.
Any memorials should be directed to Irmo Chapin Recreation, Seven Oaks Park Meals on Wheels, 200 Leisure Lane, Columbia, SC 29212, Attn: Mr. Kim Bower. The family will have a private service at a later date.
