

LEXINGTON - Kennedy Morgan Branham, 14, entered heaven on Friday, December 27, 2013 and left behind a legacy of changed and inspired lives in her hometown, the State of South Carolina, and beyond the state’s borders.
Diagnosed with brain cancer in 2012, Kennedy was the face and voice behind the Pray4Kennedy movement that resulted in more than 10,000 “Likes” on a dedicated Facebook page and 3,000 people attending a Pray4Kennedy support rally on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the River Bluff High School football stadium. She was a vocal encourager, hands-on friend, supporter of the Lexington High School varsity baseball team, and a confessing follower of Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Kennedy was born on Tuesday, February 23, 1999 in Lexington, SC and s he was a freshman at Lexington High School.
Kennedy is survived by her parents, Charlie Branham and Erin Branham, both of Lexington; brother, Parker Branham, of Lexington; grandparents, Fred and Beth McCurdy, of Lexington, Rob and Marguerite Steele, of Pelion, Nelson and Nadene Edwards, of Mebane, NC and the late Matthew Branham and his wife, Gail, of Lugoff-Elgin; loving dogs, Gabe and Oakley and cat, Mattie a big, loving family, including aunts, uncles and cousins; hundreds of friends, prayer partners, and supporters; the extended family of the Lexington High School baseball team who went on to the state championship 2013 with Kennedy by their side; the Eric Monroe family and special friends, Erica Monroe and Presley Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Lexington Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday, December 30, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church. There will be a private burial service. Pallbearers include Rivers Bedenbaugh, Brannon Miller, Cameron Neal, Dale Miller, Lance Daniel, and Russell Stringer. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Lexington High School Baseball Team. The family extends special thanks to Children’s Center of Cancer and Blood Disorders, Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital, Hands of Hope Pediatric Hospice Care, and everyone that prayed for and supported Kennedy and her family.
