Kenneth Ray Puckett

Kenneth was born in Jacksonville, TX to Christine Harris Puckett and Joyce Puckett on January 25, 1942. As a child, he was a spirited young man that would tend to stay in mischief. As he approached adulthood, this landed Kenneth in trouble with a local judge. The judge gave him the option of jail or the Army; he opted for the Army and while enlisted he became a Vietnam Veteran. He had several tours with his platoon as a radio repair technician.

During his time in the service, he met his late wife, Violet Puckett (1945-2006). They met while he was stationed at Fort Gordon in her home town of Augusta, GA. The couple was together for 45 years and married for 43 of those years. After marriage, the couple had three sons, Kenneth E. Puckett, Raymond E. Puckett, and Stacey “Adam” Puckett.

Kenneth was a blue-collar worker and provided for his family by excelling in his career; he was in the instrument and controls field, constructing and commissioning power plants around the world.

Kenneth was known in the industry as a great employee, boss, coworker, and friend. Kenneth retired in 2016 and returned to Pelion due to health reasons and wanting to spend time with family. He enjoyed his time with the kids and grandkids, friends and family and his dog, Bella.

After retirement, Kenneth enjoyed yard work, riding motorcycles, fishing, and gardening in his Aquaponics Garden. Kenneth was able to leave lifelong impressions on everyone that got the chance to know him personally. He was a true one of a kind husband, father, and friend. He was the “give you the shirt off his back” kind of guy.

Kenneth “RED” Puckett is survived by two of his sons, Raymond E. Puckett (42) and Stacey “Adam” Puckett (40); his grandchildren, Shi’ron Puckett, Samantha Puckett, Stacy Puckett, Nicholas Puckett, and Izzy Puckett.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel.
