Lewis Franklin Hite, age 87, of Lexington, South Carolina passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 22, 2023. He was born on March 21, 1936 to the late Jason Patrick Hite and Rosa Corley Hite.
Lewis was a purchasing manager of Colite Industries and “Carter-Miot.” He was a lifetime member of St. David’s Lutheran Church, charter member of Lexington County Girls Softball League, and past member of Fort Motte Hunting Club. Lewis was also involved in the Young@Heart group and was a volunteer for local assisted living communities.
He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Steeves Hite; son, Michael L. Hite (Vickie); daughters, Kimberly H. LaBauve (Richard), Amanda H. McManus, and Pamela H. Corley (Charles); grandchildren, Austin F. Corley (Alli) and Hannah Rose Corley; brother, Wilbur Hite; brother-in-law, Jimmy Moore (Cindy); sister-in-law, Shirley Sons (Donnie-deceased); step-children, Donna Winn, Christina Casellano, and Eric Dieckmann; step-grandson, Kameron LaBauve; five step-grandchildren; and extended family, Robert Keeder, Danny Belk, and Leo Hou.
He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Rosa Lee Hite; siblings, Louise Hite Dooley, Norman Hite, Vera Hite Dooley, John Hite, Harold Hite, Lonnie Hite, Estelle Hite Ricard, Mabel Hite, and Billy Hite.
A visitation for Lewis will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 4:00 PM at St. David Lutheran Church, 132 St. Davids Church Road, West Columbia, South Carolina 29170, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
